New Showreel: What Twenty Years in Licensing Looks Like
Above: the new David Born showreel is live!
My team put together a new showreel this month - 2 ½ minutes covering twenty years in licensing. Not a highlight reel in the vanity sense, just an honest snapshot of a career I still can't quite believe I've gotten to have.
It's speaking stages and studio visits. Interviews with people like Funko, Hasbro, and Davie Fogarty from Shark Tank Australia. Product on shelf. A Hello Kitty café table, a SpongeBob restaurant, characters I grew up watching that I later got to work alongside. Base camp at Everest. Marathon finish lines. Twenty years of being genuinely fascinated by an industry most people don't even know has a name.
I've built this reel to share on social, on the website, and with event organizers and podcasts I get the chance to join as a guest. But more than anything, it's a thank-you - to the brands, clients, and people who've let me be part of their world, and to an industry that's given me a career I'd choose again without hesitation.

The Bottom Line
Twenty years in, I'm still the same person who thinks licensing is one of the most interesting industries in the world. This reel is proof of that - and I'm grateful for every minute of it.
